Seafood Processing in Vietnam

We Manage Overseas Processing

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Seafood

The following are frequently asked questions about outsourced processing of seafood products. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us using the inquiry form provided.

Cost

Q

Q

Is it cheaper to manufacture overseas than in my country?

A

In general, the cost advantage of overseas processing is present when there exists a disparity in prices and salaries compared with manufacturing in Japan, the U.S., Australia, and European countries. Although the economic gap with developing countries is rapidly narrowing, there are still significant cost advantages, especially in labor-intensive processing. In addition, tariff rates on imported goods also affect cost, so the existence of bilateral agreements should also be considered.

Hygiene

Q

There are concerns about hygiene in overseas production.

A

Factories that process products for overseas markets are well aware of the hygiene standards of the respective markets. Many factories provide training on this issue to their entire staff. We commit to selecting factories that meet our customers’ standards. In addition, our staff is always present to manage production. If you wish to conduct a factory audit based on Japanese standards, we can provide full support and representation.

Quality

Q

Can you produce products of the standard and quality we require?

A

In order to minimize the risk of misunderstandings regarding quality, we will carefully discuss with you the production process and instructions that will be necessary for the factory in Vietnam to receive. During test processing, we will make prototypes on-site or remotely for your review until you are satisfied.

Delivery time

Q

How long is the delivery time?

A

Normally, we can ship the product within two months after receiving raw materials from the customer.

Partner factories

Q

How do you find reliable partners when you cannot communicate in the language?

A

Most of the issues that occur in fish processing in Vietnam are due to a lack of good communication. There are cases where what we think of “normal” and what is thought of as “normal” in Vietnam have some differences between the two ideas.

We facilitate clarity between the customer and the factory and select our partners based on a thorough understanding of expectations in production and business direction. We also provide detailed support to ensure there are no issues even after the start of operations.
